Potty Training

Chloe's been potty training this week, and it's going really well! The first time she used the potty she was 18 months. The next time we tried it was after Liam was born.. and up until recently, she always told us she wanted her diaper changed just like Liam. And when we asked her to use the potty, she would say, "someday."

So the other day, my Mom suggested I tell her they don't make diapers for big girls, and that she has to start using the potty, and that all her diapers will go to Liam. I think that worked. She also sees her cousin Maya use the potty, which really helped too.

In recent months, we tried bribing her with Pez candy, but that backfired because she never really ate candy and she started stealing it and hiding it. So we ended that approach.

The thing that has worked is providing Chloe with little gifts for using the potty. Thanks, Mara for the idea!!

So for the past couple of days she's been wearing her pull-ups and using the potty. Yay!

We put her little rewards on the chair for her to pick from once she uses the potty.

These are the bigger rewards once she fully masters the process.

That's great, Julie! I'll have to use these tips when it comes time to train the twins!
